Scientist Larry K. Johnson collecting
data from the instrument he invented and sells,
The Johnson
Permeameter. It measures the hydraulic conductivity of
soils, referred to as the "Ksat". When used
properly,
the information that can be obtained from the permemeter is extremely
valuable in generating reliable empirical data regarding the
characterisitics of water movement through the soil.
Soil Mapping & Capability Studies
The first step in determining the appropriate waste disposal method for
a site is to conduct an in-depth characterization of the property.
This will include collecting data on the geology, hydrology,
topography and soil.
